Cobble Hill, Brooklyn was in fact once a hill, also known as Ponkiesberg, and the site of a steep twisting path up to Corkscrew Fort, until it was flattened by British troops. Topography of Cobble Hill/Ponkiesberg/Corkscrew Fort, Brooklyn, NY maps the shifting terrain of a city block through real and imagined traces of its leveled landscape.
